Friday Blitz
The Friday Blitz is a team effort! Teams of pro bono lawyers and law students gather, usually at the SC Bar, and take on the task of responding to questions posted by the public to the online forum, www.SC.FreeLegalAnswers.org. If you want to be a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children you must attend 7 two-hour training sessions. They are held every Tuesday but you do not have to attend them in any order. In other words you can start in Sept and finish in late Oct. Contact the Pro Bono Program for more information and an application

H.E.L.P. Clinic-the Homeless Clinic, a project of the Richland County Bar Association Pro Bono Committee is conducted from 8:30-10 am on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at Transitions. Law students will conduct intake interviews and assist attorneys with cases. The SC Appleseed Legal justice Center in partnership with area lawyers and the Bryan Veterans Hospital present a once a month legal clinic for veterans. Issues that are handled include family law, expungements, and wills. No veterans claims will be handled. Law students assist with the on site intake of the previously screened clients.
