Lawyers4Vets
Lawyers4Vets is a project of the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center in collaboration with the VA. Volunteer lawyers come to the VA to consult with veterans on civil issues such as expungement, wills, custody and housing issues. NO VA Benefit issues can be handled. Law students can assist by conducting Intake with the attending veterans and providing any support needed to keep things moving along. Richland County CASA ( Court Appointed Special Advocates) is our local organization that manages all of the volunteer GAL's in Richland County. HELP Clinic
H.E.L.P. Clinic-the Homeless Clinic, a project of the Richland County Bar Association Pro Bono Committee is conducted from 8:30-10 am on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at Transitions. Monday, March 4th the Law School will hold the Annual Chili Cookoff of CASA! This fundraiser to help Richland County CASA support the many vulnerable children in need only works if law school chefs step up, stir, sweat and serve!
